Getting All Magickal and Shit

It’s seed sowing season and sowing seeds is what I’ve been doing. Sowing, raising, harvesting and processing all are magickal practices for me as their done with with intent, love and care. Every little seedlings is a reminder of the magick all around me on top of this hill in the middle of the woods. As I look around I see Mother Gaia sending up her babies and some early spring flowers are already in full bloom. The birds are coming back and the spirit of the land is once again awaking from it’s long winter slumber. Spring is here and can be felt everywhere, the fresh scent in the air, the seedlings peeking up through the leaves, the warmer temperatures, the brambles coming back green, the buds on the vines and trees. All signs to get my ass outside and getting the farm and nursery growing. Mother Gaia gives us all we need however, she is timely. If I’m not on her time, I grow nothing. She waits for no one.

It doesn’t matter how many years I’ve lived on this planet, Springtime just amazes me with all Mother Gaia gives birth to, the energies and the magick. No matter what we do to her or to ourselves, she keeps giving like the forgiving and loving mother she is. Spring is a magickal time of rebirth and renewal, letting go of the old and bringing in the new. This is certainly evident in the garden. As we clear out old growth and freshen up the soil, sow seeds and transplant seedlings into the garden, we’re participating in the magick of spring.

Spring time is also a time to create something new, start a new project or simply clean out the old, releasing the old energies and making space to welcome in the energies of the season. I’ve decided to use the magick of the season to start making themed magickal boxes. I’m feeling so inspired and I have many ideas coming to me. I’m feeling guided to do themed boxes such as “Love Magick Box” or “Tarot Magick Box”, I can go on forever with the ideas I have coming to me!

In curating these boxes, I want to be unique to all the hundreds of magick boxes out there. These boxes will include many items in tune with the theme of the box. I don’t write spells as I feels spells should come from inside. I give a little description of each item and some folklore or traditional uses of the item. I don’t want to limit anyone’s creativity or claim any one use of an item, spell or belief is the only one. There are many magickal practices each item in the box can be used for. I’m simply giving suggestions with a “you do you” attitude. Of course I use only non-GMO, organic and wild harvested ingredients in the products. I’ve noticed many subscription boxes advise not to ingest the herbs provided. All the herbs provided can be ingested, burned, used to decorate a candle or other tool, etc. This is influenced by my desire to make a tea out of the same herbs I’m using in others ways in my magical workings. For me it enhances the magickal effects of the herbs. My first spell is a Love Magick box as love seems to be a popular magical working. You can check out the Love Magick box here:

I’m working on other boxes although they all won’t come in boxes. I haven’t found the right word for them them yet. It will come to me.  Other themes I’m working on are tarot, moon magick, candle magick and herb magick. So many more ideas are coming to me! I’m completely following my guidance on this as I feel It’s a small part of why I’m on this planet.  What I won’t do is create a box (gift set, tool kit, magick set???) based on anything I don’t know or haven’t practiced.  I’ve never done blood magick so I will not be creating a blood magick box. I’m a eclectic Nature Witch, I do not subscribe to a religion or belief system.  I take what works for me and leave the rest.

>I’m using these boxes to get my mind right and some feedback so I can make kick ass subscription boxes. It’s been a few years since I’ve done them and these will be my first magick boxes.  The previous ones were a tea box and a candle box.  They were great learning experiences as I learned a lot.  I’m dong some refresher research as well.  When my mind is in the right place, I’ll start the subscription boxes.  Like everything I do, it’s all a process.

What is spring inspiring you to do? Do you feel the new energies on the planet? What are you planting this season? What kind of things do you like in a magickal box? What are the things you don’t want to see in them? Please share below, I greatly value your thoughts.

Merry Meet! I'm a Herbalist, Farmer and Nature Witch in beautiful East Tennessee. I live in the woods with my husband and 2 dogs where we are growing our off grid homestead and herb farm. I love wild harvesting medicine and food as well as making traditional foods and medicines. Being off grid, I'm mindful of the energy we use and what we are doing to the land we all depend on. I do my best to be as sustainable as possible. We're not perfect however, we're always improving! I value my fellow humans, my local, national and worldly communities. There's nothing better than seeing someone get healthier, happier and more empowered to help themselves. Healing isn't just ingesting a concoction or rubbing cream on the skin, it's so much more than that. As a healer, I can't deny that education is part of the healing. I'm of the belief that man made chemicals are responsible for the rise in dis ease. I've seen amazing changes in my health myself after eating mostly organic and Non-GMO. Due to my research and personal experience, I do not allow any chemicals or GMO ingredients in Love of Lotus Apothecary and Farm products. It makes no sense to me to put man made poison or franken plants in Mother Gaia's medicines. When I'm not being a foraging herbalist, I love hiking, swimming in nature spaces, spending time with loved ones, cooking, growing plants and meditating. I love rocking out behind my sexy ass drum kit and spending time with loved ones. Your time is greatly appreciated. Merry Part, Rainie Dae
